EEP - Funk Companies - Cheryl

Share a little bit about yourself and your current professional situation (business size, role  plus).

I’m a Senior Director of Training and have been with the organization for 25 years. We are an organization of 48 offices under the cofounder and CEO Bob Funk.

What inspired you to explore coaching originally?

Janice Petrini mentioned she and several of her team members used a coach and I got the referral from her. I’m always interested in personal growth and development and knew immediately I would call.

How long have you been working with your coach?

6 plus years

How would you describe your coaching meetings?

Always meaningful, insightful, pushing me towards personal and professional growth.

What value do you get from these meetings?

Wow, this is hard because I get so much. Marc has given me practical tools to help me “stir my soup”. By applying the tools, it’s helped me grow in my relationships, communication skills, and bring clarity to my vision and values.

Why does this coaching process work for you?

Marc follows a coaching process each week, so you know what to expect. He follows-up on homework, talks about what’s coming up or things you need help with, sets goals, and next steps, rates the session and then it’s up to you to go do the work. He will give you the structure, and you have to do the work. He will follow-up, and you have to do the work. No magic bullet - you have to do the work.

What impact has coaching had on you?  How has it impacted your situation?

If you want to grow, develop, reach your full potential as a human being, as a leader, I highly recommend Marc as a coach. He is strategic, systematic, and process driven. Along with that he has a big heart and is so kind, compassionate and listens so well.

What do you recommend to someone when selecting a coach?

Find someone that you can trust who you can communicate with, and that gives you what you need to grow. The coach needs to be the right fit for you.

How would you compare the cost of coaching to the value or ROI?

In my mind it’s worth every penny. It’s an investment in yourself and your growth, development, and self-care.

What specific skills have you developed in coaching that have had the most impact on you and your situation?

Self-care, Self-talk, Time management, journaling, planning, visioning, defining values, Management process, just to name a few.

If you could change one thing about your coaching, what would it be?

Sometimes I’ve taken the advice and gotten it wrong but that’s life right? We learn by doing!

Why did you select BLC for your coaching?

Referral from Janice Petrini.
