A Leg Up, Owner, one person

What inspired you to explore coaching originally?

I met Marc. He invited me and it was intriguing. Around that time Marc started a group coaching group for business owners and I joined. At the time I was founder, owner and CEO of Legacy Stables and head of the non-profit organization Karin’s Horse Connection.

How long have you been working with your coach?

About 3-4 years

How would you describe your coaching meetings?

There were a couple other business owners in the group. The atmosphere was laid back, positive and open, It was a safe, confidential environment were we all felt comfortable sharing problems and successes. Everyone was equally involved.

What value do you get from these meetings?

These meetings were very valuable for me.

Why does this coaching process work for you?

It’s a give and take. I also benefited from dealing with problems of the others.

I learned from everyone, not just Marc.

What impact has coaching had on you? How has it impacted your situation?

It help me a great deal! The group helped sort out things and see problems in a different perspective. Solutions became visible. Being able to share and getting feedback was encouraging and motivating

What would you say to someone who is considering coaching? Why?

Do it! It helps you.

What do you recommend to someone when selecting a coach?

I just send them to Marc, period.

How would you compare the cost of coaching to the value or ROI?

The cost was very high for me, very much higher than costs in my field (horses). I had a hard time justifying and accepting the costs originally. However, my business became more successful and the value was really with it.

Why do you think many people forgo coaching? What would you tell them?

The cost. The time and effort. The overcoming to trust someone with the inside of your business.

What specific skills have you developed in coaching that have had the most impact on you and your situation?

Learning and using basics like developing a vision, goals, think through my specific core values, identifying strength and weaknesses, developing and strengthening organizational skills and leadership skills.

If you could change one thing about your coaching, what would it be?

I liked it the way it was.

Why did you select BLC for your coaching?

Because of Marc. He was the first and only coach I knew.

What other benefits (if any) does coaching have for you.

I met other business owners. Marc also invited me to his networking meetings BLConnect.

What is the one thing you would tell someone considering getting coaching?

Do it, try it out.
